According to the Russian law, your stay in Russia must be registered within 7 working days upon your arrival to Russia.

Visitors staying in Russia less than seven working days do not need to register at all. Not registering your stay may lead to problems (fine, annulment of your visa) with Russian authorities and make applying of your next Russian visa more complicated or impossible.

If you stay at a hotel in Russia, most of hotels take care of registration. A small registration fee can be charged. We recommend you to check about the registration when checking in to the hotel.

If you are not staying at a hotel and your stay lasts longer than 7 working days, the receiving party should register your stay at local police precinct or at the post office. More information about registration details you will get from our office, when applying your visa.

All foreign citizens are required to possess a Migration Card while located in Russia. You will be given the Migration Card upon entry to Russia. Complete both parts and present it to passport control. The border guard will put a stamp on your Migration Card and remove the A-part. You must present your Migration Card when registering your visa in Russia and submit it at passport control when leaving Russia.

Attn! Many hotels do not accommodate clients, if they don't have stamped Migration Card with them when checking in  to hotel.
